Okapi Reusables

OKAPI Reusables operates a returnable, reusable cup network in Seattle. Customers can borrow and return cups to any cafe in the network with locations available across the city. We are constantly growing our Seattle network! Cups are checked out with a mobile app when a customer scans a QR code by the POS while ordering with the barista. Cafes are responsible for washing the cups and having a clean stock on hand for users to borrow. The OKAPI team runs the back end logistics of making sure cafes have cups stocked, helping with marketing and behavior change communication, and tracking down customer’s cups.

Our system helps keep waste out of our communities and landfills as well as adding value to the cafe and consumer interaction. Cafes can make use of Seattle Public Utilities’ incentive and try this program for free.

At OKAPI, we believe a low-lift, reusable solution should be integrated into everyday life, making it easier to be sustainable and ditch plastic altogether.
